Vacuum Casting — Low-Volume Production Parts (Gold Coast & Brisbane)

njection-mould-like quality without the tooling bill — perfect for pilot runs.

Vacuum casting (urethane) uses silicone moulds to replicate high-quality plastic parts from a master model. It’s ideal for pilot production, housing components, and show-quality parts when injection tooling is overkill.

Why choose Vacuum Casting

You get mould-quality surfaces, tight fits, and a wide range of polyurethane resins (rigid, impact-resistant, flexible, translucent) with low tooling cost and quick turns — great for bridge production and market testing.

Capabilities

  • Material options: ABS-like, PP-like, PC-like, rubber-like (shore-A), translucent grades.

  • Colour & texture: pigments, tinting, texture replication from the master.

  • Batch fit: best for 1 – 100+ units

Typical Specs

  • Max part size: master-dependent; large panels feasible (ask for specifics).

  • Tolerances: typically ±0.2–0.3 mm (geometry dependent).

  • Surface finish: Injection mould quality surface finish

  • Lead time: 7–15 business days typical including mould.

Applications

  • Electrical housings and covers

  • Consumer product trial runs

  • Medical show models

  • Soft-touch grips/seals

  • Silicone or rubber like components

Pricing Guide

Pricing depends heavily on the technology and strength attributes of a component. But to save you time we have developed a simple guide which may assist with your product development process.

We’ll help choose the right resin and optimise wall thickness/supports to hit cosmetic and functional goals within budget.

Small Parts - 50mm or Less - $50 to $150

Medium Parts - 50 to 150mm - $150 to $400

Large Parts - Up to 350mm - $400 to $1500

Typically this method suits batch production or single run production prior to injection moulding. Part pricing varies significantly due to materials, pigments, mould sizing. We will work through this all with you to ensure the best possible outcome.

*Pricing is based on ABS-Like parts with no optimisation due to volume
